"It used to be daunting to attend meetings at times as the only female member. However, over the years, I have seen a change in this gender profile, with more women joining and men being more sensitive to the presence of women in the room. It is slow learning for everyone," says Mishkat Ahmed, Project Head at Edifice Consultants.

Mishkat Ahmed is the Project Head for Urban Design at Edifice Consultants. A graduate of the UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design, Mishkat has been an integral part of the Urban Design vertical's growth at our studio — handling several prestigious urban design and mixed-use projects. She believes that offices can create thriving environments for women by providing equal opportunities and creating a comfortable space for all employees.

She was the project lead for the design of the Corporate Park at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. “Winning the international competition for Corporate Park at Kharghar has been one of the most significant achievements of my professional career! The unique design ideas and excellent graphical representation of our proposal made a huge impact on the jury to select us among a host of other international firms,” she reflects.

The Corporate Park at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, was designed as a vibrant city centre, making it an iconic destination for people from all over #NaviMumbai. Combining spaces for work, play and living, the development is tied together by a diagonal green spine encompassing landmarks, vistas and landscape elements. Edifice Consultants was involved in creating a comprehensive master plan and a branding strategy for the project.
