Industrial Park at NH5

Mahindra World City has envisaged a modern and a well managed industrial park of international standards in about 600 acres of land in two phases along NH-5, near Gummidipoondi, in the village of Eliambedu. Japanese companies in the field of electronics, engineering and automotive components have expressed their desire to set up their facilities in the proposed park. The industrial park will consist of companies in the field of electronics, engineering and automotive components, reliable utilities with supporting facilities and amenities that include ready-built factories, social, residential, commercial and recreational facilities.

As a Greenfield project, Edifice’s vision for the Industrial Park is "to design a self-sustainable integration of industrial, retail and other uses in a vibrant and safe environment, facilitating ease of access for all users and maintaining the ecological balance."This statement forms the basis of the master plan development, and forms the guideline for its future growth as well since the completion time for a project of this scale would be minimum 5 years. In this particular case, there is also the possibility of land acquisition at different points in time, and hence revisions/ review of the master plan will take place at intervals to understand the implication of the newly incorporated lands. It became necessary then to define the key elements in the master plan as a constant, so as to maintain its homogeneity and the character envisaged over time. These key elements break the monotony of the road section and instil character, variety and identity to the project through the use of material and texture, volume and mass, open and built space. Out of the total 600 acres, Phase 1 of approximately 300 acres has begun execution and applied for IGBC Green Cities Certification.
